Thank you for your interest in submitting a presentation proposal for the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence’s (NCADV’s) 2018 National Conference on Domestic Violence: Voices Rising, being held September 23 - 26, 2018 at the Omni Hotel in Providence, RI.
We are pleased to provide this forum to engage innovative thought, provide cutting-edge information, and promote critical discussions addressing domestic violence and intersecting issues. NCADV values your expertise and appreciates your willingness to share your knowledge and experiences with victims and survivors, advocates, and other professionals and service providers across the nation.
PRESENTATION SUBMISSION DEADLINE EXTENDED! New deadline for presentation submissions is 11:59pm MST - Wednesday, January 31st, 2018!
WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW BEFORE SUBMITTING:
For Voices Rising, NCADV will be focusing on presentations that provide, model, or incorporate solutions and/or successful best practices to addressing domestic violence. For this conference, we will be selecting presentations that focus less on what the issues are and more on HOW the issues are being addressed in communities.
Presentations should be forward thinking, innovative, engaging, and allow attendees to participate in activities that stimulate their thought-process; enable them to learn from you and one another, network with each other, and leave the presentation with tangible tools and ideas they can incorporate into their own programs, jobs, and communities. Attendees of NCADV conferences are largely victims, advocates, and service providers from across the nation and internationally who are seeking more advanced training and information to enhance their work. NCADV will be choosing presentations that most closely meet this need.
This is a highly competitive process so be sure your presentation proposal is carefully completed, clear, concise, relevant, thought-provoking, and solutions-oriented. On average, NCADV receives over 250 proposal submissions for our biennial conferences. On average, we can only select approximately 50 for the conference. Incomplete submissions will not be considered.
PRESENTATION TIME ALLOTMENT:
The time allocation for each presentation session is one hour and thirty minutes (1.5 hours). Due to our limits to time and available sessions, two part presentations will not be considered.
SELECTED PRESENTATION DATES:
The majority of the submissions will be selected as workshop presentations, but in a few cases, we may request selected presenters to deliver in another type of session format.
Presentations will be held throughout the conference, September 23-26; however, those selected as workshop sessions will be held Monday, September 24th; Tuesday, September 25th; and Wednesday, September 26th.
A presentation submission to NCADV does not guarantee that you will be selected to present at the conference. All presentation proposals must be submitted via this call for presentations and will be reviewed by a peer committee.
We request that you carefully review the information found here which will provide details regarding registration if you are selected to present at the conference as well as our presentation acceptance policy and FAQs.
You may submit more than one presentation for consideration; however, each must be submitted separately.
Because of the large number of submissions we receive, NCADV will communicate strictly via email about the status of a submission. No phone calls or email inquiries, please.
If you have additional questions about NCADV’s Voices Rising conference, please email email@example.com.
